As you likely will have heard, a positive COVID-19 case was identified in the community earlier today in Auckland.
As per the New Zealand Government's instruction this evening during the Prime Minister's press conference, as at 11.59pm tonight (17 August), New Zealand will move to Alert Level 4 for three days. Auckland and the Coromandel Peninsula will remain in Alert Level 4 for seven days.
Nexus Logistics has re-activated our Alert Level 4 Pandemic Plan, and as an essential service provider we will continue to operate subject to the restrictions and guidelines applicable to this alert level. We have reinstated our own working protocols and controls to keep our staff safe - while also protecting yours.
Some of our Alert Level 4 protocols includes:
- Observation of social distancing, regular hand washing and sanitising, mask usage and contact tracing
- Work from home for non-operational staff
- Increased hygiene controls for facilities and equipment
- We have instructed our drivers to adhere to our COVID-19 controls, just as we have done in other lockdowns
- We ask all site staff to maintain social distancing from our drivers and no keys will be handed to any person whilst we are in this alert level
- No paper work will be exchanged at sites (this must be done electronically)
Operations at the South Auckland Freight Hub will also continue as usual for receival and delivery of containers, but subject to the below protocols.
