Recently, we have seen an increase in the number of booking cancellations for rail shuttle movements. This has a significant financial and operational impact on our business due to additional on-port handling for imports to move containers back from the rail grid to Fergusson Terminal. The unused train slots for both imports and exports are ones that others could have used. There is also additional administration for cancelled orders.
Therefore we wish to advise that as of Wednesday 8th April the following cancellation fees shall apply:
- Imports cancelled within 48 hrs of vessel arrival – $50 per container
- Imports cancelled after vessel discharge – $130 per container
- Exports cancelled within 48 hrs of port cut off – $50 per container
We appreciate whilst we deal with this unprecedented event, there will be some customers who require changes made but unfortunately we can’t continue to absorb the associated costs around these requests if they fall into the above categories.
