Hub locations
South Auckland Freight Hub
Nexus Logistics manages the intermodal freight hub at Wiri, South Auckland - the South Auckland Freight Hub (SAFH). SAFH currently processes 22 trains per week between the hub and the Port of Auckland, through its private rail siding. This lets customers to both deliver and uplift containers without incurring any extra travel time and reduces associated transport costs by eliminating the need for carriers to drive in and out of the city.
Our services include:
De-van and packing of containers, including cross dock services for general FAK plus ambient and cold storage products
Short to medium term container storage for general purpose FCL containers, as well provision of 80 reefer plugs
Empty container transitional handling and storage and import/export equipment triangulation
Rail network services to/from and between our hub network
Northgate Waikato Freight Hub
This site is under development and due to be completed in 2021, with the hard stand operational from March 2021.
The Waikato Freight hub is located within the Northgate Business Park, 8km north of Hamilton. The hub has excellent road and rail connections, with immediate connectivity to SH1 and the main trunk line. When complete, this state-of-the-art intermodal facility will consist of rail sidings, container yards, warehousing, and multi-use cross dock facilities.
Manawatu Inland Port
In the Lower North Island Nexus is domiciled at the Manawatu Inland Port (MIP) at Longburn.
We are not restricted to using only MIP and can also provide logistics services in the Lower North Island for containers and cargo direct from the Palmerston North rail CT.
Our services include:
Access to and from rail via the private rail siding – currently 3 shunts per day
Container storage facility: catering for both full dry and reefer and empty transitioning
Empty container de-hire site providing container wash bay/steam clean and some small repair/maintenance work
Container packing and de-van operations – hard-sealed and under canopy apron
Cross docking for all cargo types (ambient, chilled and frozen)
Fully NZ Customs, MPI and ATF accredited
Road transport to and from MIP – both full and less than truck loads
Rail transport to and from Auckland and Wellington ports
Integrated hub network with other Nexus sites (Wiri/WIFH, Waikato and Christchurch)
MidlandPort
In the South Island, we are based at the MidlandPort freight hub in Rolleston where we offer a full suite of logistics services.
Our services include:
Access to and from rail via the private rail siding, with daily services directly to Lyttleton
Container storage facility: catering for both full dry and reefer and empty transitioning
Empty container de-hire site providing container wash bay/steam clean and
some small repair/maintenance work
Container packing and de-van operations – hard sealed and under canopy apron
Cross docking for all cargo types (ambient, chilled and frozen)
Capacity for up to 168 reefer plugs
Customs controlled and MPI transitional facility
