An update from POAL
The worst of Cyclone Gabrielle has now passed Auckland. High winds continue to be a factor this morning but are likely to reduce later today.
The port will start limited work today to prepare for resumption of operations tomorrow at 7:00am.
- Shipping movements will start from 7:00pm tonight to prepare for tomorrow.
- Stevedoring and the container terminal operations will commence from 7:00am tomorrow as planned.
- POAL will prepare the cruise ship Arcadia for her departure.
- The POAL office will be open for non-operational staff to return to work from Wednesday (tomorrow) morning however, some staff may continue to work from home if roads are blocked etc.
Thank you for the support and patience over the past few days. Following the lost operational time, POAL expect there will be some yard congestion and high demand on VBS bookings. They will manage the resumption as best they can, however as the supply chain may have been affected in other areas, POAL cannot promise a full service at this stage.
Please be patient as they catch up and return to normal operations. The teams are working hard to support everyone as best they can.
POAL will resume communicating via the weekly Operational advisory or any Road Alerts as usual from this afternoon.
Stay safe. Thank you.
