As you will likely be aware, there is significant congestion in Auckland’s container logistics supply chain. Wait times are longer, creating more admin re-work and adding penalty fees on container deliveries within the Auckland region.
In normal times, our container delivery cycle includes an allowance for 30 minutes waiting time at a port or empty container park. With the current global supply chain disruption and congestion in all Auckland container facilities, wait times exceed 30 minutes and are extending up to three hours.
Unfortunately, we can no longer absorb the cost of this extra waiting time, so from Monday 22 November 2021, we will be applying a $79.00 congestion charge for each container moved in Auckland. This charge will be reviewed next year once we see the congestion get back to normal levels.
This congestion charge will not apply to our rail-shuttle-only customers.
We know this comes at a challenging time for everyone, and we appreciate your understanding along with your support during this period of congestion and supply-chain uncertainty.
